is there anything better than the aroma of a chocolate cake baking in the oven?

first off, confession session: i cannot, i repeat, CANNOT, be trusted around a carton of ice cream. or a bowl of frosting…hmm or anything peanut butter flavored…err chocolate, too. ok, ok, let me rephrase this: i like sweets. well, i love sweets, but i used to hate baking. too scientific…too calculated…but then, i made some homemade, vanilla buttercream frosting that sent me soaring on a sugar high i have yet to come down from. i swooned over the incredibly creamy, yet light and fluffy texture, and found myself intrigued by the baking possibilities that awaited me.

needless to say, this section of the blog will feature me obsessing over all things sugar.
